“Once you choose hope, anything’s possible.”
Don’t give up. Hope is key to saving your marriage. Without hope partners in a marriage begin to wonder if it is even worth trying to work on the relationship. I have found through many years of counseling with couples that just about any relationship can be saved if people are willing to work on it. So there is always reason for hope. Even when it looks hopeless.
What does a hopeful couple working on their relationship look like?
They wholeheartedly commit to do the hard work of rebuilding their relationship.
They understand that they are in this for the long haul.
They are encouraged by small and seemingly insignificant steps of progress.
They do not expect dramatic change overnight.
They continually “start over” again with each other in their relationship.
It’s hard to get started on working on your relationship, particularly when you feel hopeless. But don’t give up, especially before you get started.
Don’t give up. The beginning is always the hardest.
